CAMERATA BUSONIgeeft sinds 2007 kamermuziekconcerten van bijzondere aard en inhoud. In de geest van Ferruccio Busoni worden programma's gepresenteerd en samengesteld. Bach en Mozart in de 21ste eeuw, de 19de eeuwse Romantische en anti-Romantische helden, onbekende meesterwerken uit Belle Époque en Interbellum En: Muziek van Tijdgenoten.CAMERATA BUSONI is de synthese van gelijkgestemde musici van verschillende generaties, afkomstig uit diverse landen. Alle musici hebben een uitzonderlijke internationale staat van dienst in de kamermuziek of/en als solist.

In haar eerste seizoen 2007-2008 werd CAMERATA BUSONI reeds uitgenodigd voor concerten in het Concertgebouw van Amsterdam en Musis Sacrum Arnhem voor concerten bij MuziekPodium Zeeland, en voor een serie van drie concerten in Muziekcentrum De Toonzaal in Den Bosch. Camerata Busoni trad ook op in AVRO's radioprogramma Spiegelzaal en bij VPRO's Vrije Geuiden.
In het tweede seizoen 2008-2009 trad CAMERATA BUSONI o.a. opnieuw op in het Concertgebouw van Amsterdam en vond op haar initiatief de Schnittke Kamermuziekdagen plaats in Muziekcentrum De Toonzaal in Den Bosch, Vredenburg-Leeuwenbergh in Utrecht, Muziekcentrum Enschede en in het Concertgebouw van Amsterdam. Pianokwartetten, Strijktrio's en Pianotrio's van Mozart, Brahms, Enescu, Beethoven, Ravel, Faure, Schubert en Schumann stonden op het programma als ook hedendaagse composities van Kagel, Xenakis, Lang, Nancarrow, Saariaho, Wolff, Feldman, Satie, Carter, Copland en Zorn.
FERRUCCIO BUSONI -CAMERATA BUSONI
Praised as one of the most amazing pianist and composer of the 20th century, highly respected writer of many articles as well as the visionary essay “Sketch of a New Aesthetic of Music”, Busoni, has had a huge impact on the musical thinking of the last century.
Next to being a great musician of renaissance dimensions, Busoni (1866-1924) was a thinker, a great lover of literature with a prominent place for Goethe, Cervantes and E.T.A. Hoffman, a promoter of many new compositions and advocate of the classical heritage; Bach, Mozart and Beethoven. By encouraging new music in Berlin, a.o. an unknown Bartok, he had a very strong following consisting of almost all major composers of the early part of the 20th century. As pianist he was one of the first to perform a series of Mozart Piano Concertos, something unique in his days.
It is with this legacy in mind that Camerata Busoni has been created, an extremely flexible - highly skilled - and versatile ensemble, devoted to the performance of traditional and unconventional chamber music compositions of all periods. Not only the choice of works is important but also the combinations and connections between the programmed compositions. All this very much in the spirit and style of Busoni, whose music and ideas have had a lasting great influence throughout my musical life.
Works that have been unjustly neglected will be found next to traditional compositions and, where possible, under some theme or within a project - thus showing many important connections, which can be a valuable contribution also in today’s programming.
Next to piano trios and piano quartets, solo works can be performed or string trio's, string quartets and larger ensemble groups. A variety of compositions ranging from the 17th to the 21st century, in all sorts of combinations. There is also the possibility for programs devoted to either the traditional or the 20th and 21st century repertoire.
