Camerata BusoniPiano Trio: Geoffrey Madge - piano, Marco Roosink - violin, Katharina Gross - cello. The basis of the Piano Trio Camerata Busoni is the classical oeuvre for piano trio by Mozart, Haydn, Beethoven, Schubert, Schumann and Brahms.
Camerata Busoni views their masterworks - like the string quartets- as essential for the chamber music literature, and performing them as the test of mastery. Therefore preferring to play in every concert at least one work by Mozart, Beethoven or Schubert. In the first season 2007-2008 the Piano Trio Camerata Busoni performs a. o. at the Concertgebouw Amsterdam, Musis Sacrum in Arnhem, Muziekpodium Zeeland and at Muziekcentrum De Toonzaal in Den Bosch.
Piano Trios by Mozart, Beethoven, Brahms, Ravel, Copland and Kagel stand for the season 07-08 on the program.
Two musicians of the Piano Trio Camerata Busoni - Madge & Roosink - have a long standing relation with the genre piano trio. Geoffrey Madge started his career as the pianist of a professional piano trio, before moving to Europe in the 1960ties embarking on his successful solo career. Marco Roosink played the complete traditional piano trio repertoire with several professional piano trios in The Netherlands and abroad since the beginning of the 1990ties.
