Ferdinand Erblich is born in Vienna in 1946. He studied in Vienna violin with Josef Silvo. Viola he studied with Hatto Beyerle of the Alban Berg Quartet and with Peter Schidlof of the Amadeus Quartet.
As the violist and co-founder, in 1976, of the celebrated Orlando Quartet he gave in in a quarter of a century hundreds of concerts at the famous international concert halls, chamber music series and festivals, collaborating with numerous renowned musicians. Since 1998 he forms together with two other original members of the Orlando Quartet, the Párkányi Quartet. Recordings of the Orlando Quartet and Párkányi Quartet are praised with the highest awards.
Ferdinand Erblich is a sought after guest violist by many professional String Quartets and Piano Trios and maintains a special bond with the pre-eminent Prazak Quartet. He teaches viola and chamber music at the Royal Conservatory in The Hague; The Netherlands. |
